Corey Levitan recounts his evening as a guest piano player alongside pupil and Pete's house pianist Matt Newbold.

"We worked this out in rehearsal: I answer Newbold correctly on three "Dueling Banjos" volleys. On the fourth, he goes boogie-woogie bonkers and I do my best to keep up."

Four of the Best Piano Players in the Country Rock The Stage Nightly at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar
October 26, 2009

Dowload a pdf version of this press releaseDownload a pdf version of this press release

LAS VEGAS – Beginning Friday, Nov. 13, Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar at Town Square hosts nightly duels featuring some of the nation’s top musicians including Matt Newbold, Christine Cochrane, Joel Henry and Dean Edwards.

Matt Newbold kicked off his career in Nashville where he found his niche as a keyboard player in country bands and later as the frontman for his own group. Over the years, he has performed around the world with a USO band, rocked the stage at the legendary Grand Ole Opry and entertained crowds on multiple cruise lines. In addition, Newbold has battled at numerous dueling piano bars across the country including locations in Portland, San Diego, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Nashville and now Las Vegas at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar.

A multi-talented musician, Christine Cochrane brings an array of skills to Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar. In addition to tickling the ivories, Cochrane’s many musical talents include singing, songwriting and playing percussion. She has experienced several avenues of music throughout her career including performing and studio production. With encouragement from friends, Cochrane pursued a career in dueling pianos, which eventually led her to a position at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar in Addison, Texas. When she is not dominating the stage, Cochrane can be found working on her debut album of original music.

Joel Henry adds a blend of unique style, crazy antics and passion for entertaining to the talented team at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar. At the age of five, Henry began taking piano lessons and instantly fell in love with performing. He continued taking classes over the next 13 years, learning the discipline and history of the art. As the years passed, he expanded his knowledge by studying jazz, writing original compositions and performing popular music. Following college, Henry performed for guests on cruise lines, played numerous clubs around the country and in 2004, brought his enthusiasm and talent to Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar in Forth Worth, Texas.

Dean Edwards has always enjoyed the stage, starting his career as a stand-up comedian and transitioning into the exciting world of dueling pianos. In 2000, he visited Las Vegas to take a two-week course on his new trade which landed him a gig on the East Coast at a dueling piano bar. Five years later, Edwards met with fellow dueler Joel Henry at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar in Fort Worth, Texas and was quickly invited to become a part of the team.

Newbold, Cochrane, Henry and Edwards team up nightly, performing in two-person rotations and thrilling the crowd with hits from every music era. Guests won’t believe their ears as they rock out to Elvis, Billy Joel, Abba, ZZ Top, Dave Matthews, Bon Jovi, The Beatles, Blink-182 and much more. As a special experience for guests, all four entertainers will gather together on stage several times throughout the night to show off their incredible talents with multiple instruments and unstoppable energy.
