David Lee
Hometown: Dayton, OH Personal: First songs I remember pounding out were Yankee Doodle and Mary Had a Little Lamb. I was about 6. From about 7th grade on, I was always in or trying to put together a band. The only real regular working band I played in was '33 People'. We played mainly in Dayton and Cincinnati and sang the National Anthem for the '92 Olympic summer game try outs in Indianapolis. I started in piano duelingdom in the summer of '94 in Cincinnati. Moved to Houston 5 months later to open a club. Played in Houston for over 8 years. (In the fall of 2000, I flew to London to try out for a Roman Polanski movie, "The Pianist." I also screwed up my try out for "Rent" a couple of years before that). While in Houston, I got to play with the best in the business...that includes Will and Kyle. They are the ones that got me in touch with Pete's 18 months ago...and now here I am, one of Austin's newest residents. Favorite Songs to Play: That would depend if I feel rowdy or mellow. Some of my favorite songs are "Tempted," "Roxanne," "She Sheila" (the Producers), "Talk To You Later" (the Tubes). My current favorite song is "100 years". Best Sure-Thing-Crowd-Pleasers: Anything by the Beatles...before the narcotics. Craziest Moment On Stage at Pete's: This may be more embarrassing than crazy, but one time I mistook a girl for a boy. Shame on me. Keep Austin Weird. |
